A search resumed on Sunday morning for a missing sailor, whose boat was found beached at Brighstone with the engine still running.
A member of the public alerted emergency services after finding the small yacht 'Brigand' with one of its sails up at 5:15pm on Saturday.
An extensive air, land and sea search was carried out involving two coastguard helicopters, Yarmouth and Mudeford RNLI lifeboats, Freshwater inshore rescue and Lymington, Needles, Southbourne and Swanage coastguard teams.
It is thought the sailor had set off from Poole on Saturday morning, with the intention of sailing to Hayling Island.
After searching for nearly five hours, coastguards called off their search just after 11pm on Saturday.
However, they resumed their search again at 7am on Sunday, starting off with five search teams along the coastline, including two lifeboats from Freshwater.
