Pictures of how Cowes looked in the austere 50s are on display with the launch of a new exhibition.
The free Cowes Heritage display charts a time when men were returning from war service and finding it hard to adjust back into civilian life.
John Groves, Cowes Heritage chairman, said: "Our members have worked hard trying to bring the fifties alive through pictures, written material and artefacts. This was a period of post-war austerity, with rationing still operating early in the decade. The displays are a reminder of just how many changes have taken place in Cowes, Northwood and Gurnard since then."
Ship and boat building, weddings, carnivals and the railway are among the subjects on show at the event.
The exhibition is open daily 10am - 4pm from Saturday 20 October to Sunday 11 November, at the Cowes Regatta Centre on Bath Road, Cowes.
