Hospital parking pledge by chief executive

Hospital parking pledge by chief executive
By Matt White Thu, 18 October 2012 2:15PM

The new chief executive of the Island's NHS has pledged to increase the number of parking spaces at St Mary's Hospital.

Karen Baker told Isle of Wight Radio's Tom Stroud the hospital had submitted a planning application for an extra 200 spaces.

Karen said the organisation had consulted over parking and admitted there was not enough spaces at the hospital.

She also said it was looking into an alternative to the current parking payment scheme, where visitors to the hospital would pay on exit.
