Police are not treating a woman's death as suspicious after her car fell off a cliff last night (Tuesday).
Officers are continuing to investigate the death of the Dorset woman, aged in her 40s, whose car fell about 200ft off a cliff last night.
Police were called by a member of the public to an area west of Compton Chine Farm, Military Road in Brook around 6.40pm.
The woman, believed to the driver, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body has been recovered and taken to hospital where a post-mortem examination and formal identification are due to take place this week.
Detectives do not believe anyone else was travelling in the car.
No other vehicles or people are thought to have been involved.
Police are in the process of contacting and informing next-of-kin and HM Coroner has been notified.
A section of the Military Road was closed as a precaution during the early stages of the investigation.
The road was re-opened shortly after 11am today.
Officers called to the scene would like to thank witnesses and members of the public for their co-operation and information with enquiries so far.
