The man who died after a van plunged over Culver Cliff this morning (Thursday) has been named as Robert Hayball, aged 20
Police and coastguard search teams recovered Mr Hayball's body from the van at the foot of Culver Cliff shortly after 1.30pm.
It followed a search that started at around 3.30am.
The body was transferred to a police launch boat and taken to the mortuary at St Mary's Hospital, where the formal identification took place.
Police said a vehicle, believed to be Mr Hayball's van, remains underwater off the coast of Culver.
Officers are considering options for the safe recovery of this vehicle, which is not thought to have been carrying any other people.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place later this week and HM Coroner has been informed.
