Pedestrian injured in car crash

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after colliding with a car in Newport.

Police were called at 8:02am on Friday to reports of a man injured in a collision with a Peugeot on Staplers Road.

According to a police spokesperson the road was clear a short time afterwards. The pedestrian is not thought to have suffered serious injuries.
