Heavy rain lashes the Island
By Emma Philo Sun, 23 September 2012 12:59PM

Heavy rain was lashing the Isle of Wight on Sunday afternoon, as the Met Office issued a warning of possible flooding.

An amber warning for the South East, including the Island, was issued for periods of heavy rain during Sunday evening and into Monday morning.

Added to heavy downpours on Sunday afternoon, the weather body warned of an increased risk of surface water and potential river flooding.

The amber weather warning was valid from 6pm on Sunday until 7am on Monday morning.
