Sea Scouts Round The Island Row Challenge Sea Scouts row gets underway in Cowes
By Lucy Morgan Sat, 15 September 2012 9:15AM

A group of sea scouts from Cowes are living up to their name by rowing around the Isle of Wight.

Each rowing for an hour at a time, working in teams, they will set off from the Royal Yacht Squadron line at 9:15 this morning, complete with a canon-start. The scouts are aiming to reach Ventnor on Saturday evening, where they will camp overnight. They will complete their challenge on Sunday.

2nd Cowes (St Mary’s) Sea Scouts have already raised around £8000 pounds to help renovate their HQ and purchase new equipment.
