By Chris Browning Fri, 14 September 2012 6:45AM

Firefighters have extinguished two cars which were on fire in Shanklin.

Crews were called to Wilton Park Road at around half past four, and used one hose reel and breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.

Police also attended the scene.

A police spokesperson told Isle of Wight Radio that one of the cars completely burnt out, the other suffered some damage.

They added that Isle of Wight Fire is treating the blaze as arson, and investigations are ongoing.
