Briggs takes debut wicket

Briggs takes debut wicket
By Matt White Thu, 13 September 2012 9:45AM

Ventnor cricketer Danny Briggs enjoyed a victorious Twenty20 debut for England against South Africa last night.

Danny, 21, took a wicket in the NatWest international at Edgbaston, bowling Faf Du Plessis, who was caught by England's Eoin Morgan.

Bad weather meant the match was restricted to 11 overs but England's 28-run victory meant they tied the series 1-1.

The left arm spinner flew out to Sri Lanka with the England squad this morning for the start of next week's Twenty20 World Cup.

Defending champions England start next Friday against Afghanistan.
