Water supplies are now returning for up to 10,000 people in the Brading, Ryde and Sandown areas, affected by a burst main early on Saturday morning.
Southern Water said some customers had experienced a loss of supply due to a 12 inch mains pipe burst at Brading Marshes. They were first made aware of a problem at 3am.
Engineers were said to be working to fix the problems and the company has apologised for any inconvenience caused. They had hoped to restore supplies to affected customers by 8am on Saturday morning, and Isle of Wight Radio's Virtual Journalists were reporting the problem had been fixed in some areas including Nettlestone and Brading
Thanks to Isle of Wight Radio virtual journalist Chris Lack, who also reported that supplies were being affected in Adgestone in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Isle of Wight Radio listeners also told us first thing that supplies had been low in Nettlestone, Pondwell and Lake.
