Police have revealed the suspicious items found in Parkhurst Forest recently could be linked with terrorism in Northern Ireland.
Two guns, ammunition and what is believed to be two improvised incendiary devices were found during a search of the forest, near Noke Common, on August 24.
At the time, police said there was no danger to the public and today officers stressed the items, believed to have been there for several years, were not linked to any current criminal activity.
However, it is possible they could be linked with past terrorism in Northern Ireland.
The South East Counter Terrorism Unit has launched an investigation.
Anyone with information that could assist the enquiry should call the Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321.
