Grounded Yacht Gets Assistance from Cowes Lifeboat

Cowes lifeboat was launched this evening to go to the aid of a yacht that hadalerted Solent Coastguards it had gone aground.
The 35 foot Pure Magic, with two couples on board, had come to grief on Gurnard Ledgein a Force 4 south-westerly, while on passage from Hamble to Beaulieu.
The lifeboat helm, Patrick Moreton, put James Chillman aboard with a tow-line. After thelifeboat turned the yacht round towards clear water it eventually refloated on the rising tide.
As a precaution, James remained on board while the lifeboat escorted Pure Magic toCowes Yacht Haven.
