Wightlink Islanders joint manager Kevin Shepherd says his riders 'must do better' after their defeat to Scunthorpe on Monday.
The Islanders made a good start to the meeting, but a strong finish from Scunthorpe saw them come out 50-40 victors.
'Without taking anything away from the Scunthorpe youngsters who rode well, I was disappointed that we didn't come away from the there with at least a point', said Kevin Shepard.
'We started brightly but again faded in the second half of the meeting and that's something we'll be looking to put right in our up coming matches.
'Quite simply we must do better.'
The Islanders will be determined to do just that in Thursday (August 30th) night's home National Trophy match at Smallbrook against Mildenhall.
Tapes go up at 7:30pm.
