Family Fun Day To Remember Jack Wakefield

Family Fun Day To Remember Jack Wakefield
By Isle of Wight Radio Reporter Mon, 27 August 2012 7:03AM

The family of an Island toddler who tragically died of Cancer are holding a family fun day to raise money for other families of cancer patients.

Jack Wakefield died in 2006 aged just two and half years old.

The youngster had battled with a rare brain tumour almost since birth, and while he was receiving treatment at Southampton General Hospital, the cancer charity Clic Sargent had provided the family with a place to stay so they could be near him.

The charity is in need of funds to help support children diagnosed with cancer but also to provide support for the family and friends having to come to terms with the heartbreaking news.

The fundraising event is being held at Rookley Country Park today (Monday) from 12:30 with fireworks in the evening.
