Music Performer Banned From Summer Event

Music Performer Banned From Summer Event
By Isle of Wight Radio Reporter Thu, 23 August 2012 2:11PM

A well known music performer on the Isle of Wight has been banned from a summer event for a year.

Reggae artist Derek Sandy was performing at the annual Garlic Festival near Newchurch on the Isle of Wight at the weekend.

He was involved in a row with the band Lucid who were performing after him on the music stage. When Derek was asked to leave the stage he apparently continued performing taking up Lucids time. Derek claims all bands were running 10 minutes late.

Both artists have said the incident was minor and is being blown out of proportion.

The organisers of the Garlic Festival have banned Derek Sandy for one year from the event.
