Future Of Care Home Under Threat

Future Of Care Home Under Threat
By Isle of Wight Radio Reporter Wed, 22 August 2012 1:25PM

The future of a care home in Ventnor is under threat.

Excelsior is a residential home based on Mitchell Avenue and provides care and accommodation for up to 19 older people.

According to "chosemycare" it has capacity for people in the dementia and physical disability care category.

Insolvency firm FRP Advisory LLP has confirmed the carehome is in receivership and it's working to safeguard the future of the home and its 11 residents.

FRP Advisory LLP is seeking a purchaser to also ensure the jobs of the employees are safeguarded.

Mr Stevens and Mr Vickers, who were appointed Joint LPA Receivers by the charge holder on 9th August, are currently trading the care home with the assistance of managing agents, Goldcare Future Management Limited, who are supporting the 15 existing members of staff.

Commenting, Mr Stevens said: "We are working with a managing agent to support in running the home, and together we are doing everything possible to work with all the regulatory authorities to ensure that the high standards of care at the home are maintained and improved where possible.

"At this time, our sole focus is to continue trading the business whilst working hard to achieve a sale of the home as a going concern."
