A bus that was due to arrive at Newport bus station, instead turned into Morrisons Car park, where it then got stuck trying to leave.
Cars were held up, as it had to reveres to leave the way it came in.
A spokesman for Southern Vectis says that the incident where the driver of a double deck bus took a wrong turn into the Morrison’s car park whilst on route 3 towards Newport is now being investigated. He said that early indications are that this was simply human error. “We apologise to anyone whose car was trapped in the car park until we could marshal our bus back onto the main road and to the passengers who had an unexpected opportunity to go shopping. Our bus sustained minor damage whilst manoeuvring in the tight space.”
