Students at Ryde get the results
Students across the Isle of Wight have found out their A-level results today (Thursday).
Hundreds of year 13s arrived at their schools early in the morning to open their envelopes. For many, a place at university was at stake.
There was good news for Isle of Wight College student Saskia, who told Isle of Wight Radio's Paul Topping her results on the breakfast show.
'I got three B's in Performance Studies, English Language and Philosophy', she said excitedly.
She will be going to Colchester Institute in September, and hopes to open her own performance academy one day.
'That's a big goal at the moment, I need to work up to it!', she added.
There was more success at Ryde Academy.
Principal Rob Hoddle is delighted with his students' grades.
'We've done really well today', he told Isle of Wight Radio.
'We're extremely pleased to report that we've got improvements in students achieving higher grades, as well as a 100% pass rate at A2 level.
Mr Hoddle thanked students and teachers for their 'hard work and excellent achievments'.
This story will be updated throughout the day.
