Cars On Fire In Gunville

Emergency services were called to Gunville in the early hours of this morning after it was reported two cars were on fire.

Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue attend the scene at Alvington Manor View at 3.08am this morning (Wednesday) to fire two cars alight.

A spokesperson from Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue told Isle of Wight Radio it was thought the vehicles had been set alight.

One pump from Newport was used to tackle the blaze which was extinguished by 3.57am. Police were also called to the scene.

Police have launched an investigation into the fires. Officers are carrying out forensic and house-to-house enquiries.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Newport Police Station by calling 101.
