Urgent appeal to find missing 'vulnerable' man

Police are issuing an urgent appeal for information about the whereabouts of a vulnerable missing man on the Isle of Wight.

Officers have concerns for the welfare of Jeff Johnson, aged 42, from Southampton, who was reported missing by his family this afternoon (Tuesday).
 
Mr Johnson is believed to be in a vulnerable condition in the Newport, Carisbrooke and Parkhurst areas of the island.
 
Air and ground searches are continuing for him this evening. Hampshire Constabulary would like to thank volunteers from WightSAR for their assistance.
 
Mr Johnson is described as:
 
> White
> 5 ft 9 ins tall
> Stocky build
> Greying thinning short hair
> Green eyes
 
Witnesses or anyone with information about his whereabouts are asked to phone 999 or 101. Mini-com users can phone 18001 101.

UPDATE:  Mr Johnson was found alive near Carisbrooke Castle in the early hours of  this morning (Wednesday).
