Speedway Knock Out Cup Clash Abandoned Due To Fog

By Lucy Morgan Fri, 10 August 2012 2:45PM

Speedway and the Wightlink Islanders' Knock Out Cup action was abandoned last night when heavy mist and fog rolled into Smallbrook stadium.

Just six of the scheduled fifteen heats were completed.

Visitors Dudley Heathens were leading 21-15 when conditions deteriorated and the match was halted.

The Islanders were already facing a deficit before the start of the second leg.

Organisers say riders couldn't see ahead and the crowd couldn't see the other side of the stadium.
