The Island's very own Olympic-hope, canoeist Richard Jeffries, has missed out on a chance for a medal in the 200m sprint.
A "large contingent" of Islanders turned out to support the 25-year-old from Bembridge, at Eton Dorney.
He successfully negotiated his heat, but finished sixth in the semi-final with a time 43.213.
It means he will not take part in the medal race tomorrow (Saturday).
