A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, after a fatal collision involving a man in a wheelchair.
The driver, a 27 year old man from Rookley, has been bailed until November 28, 2012 pending further enquiries.
Police have named the victim as Andrew David O'Neill, 32, from Godshill.
He was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision involving his wheelchair and a Vauxhall Frontera 4 x 4.
Officers say the collision happened at approximately 10.40pm on Saturday, July 28, 2012 on Newport Road near Godshill on the Island.
Mr O’Neill, aged 32 from Godshill, was formally identified by next-of-kin on Sunday, July 29, 2012. A post-mortem examination is due to be held later this week.
