A family who's home was struck by lightning three months ago are still living in a caravan.
Dave and Vav Simon and their 14-year-old daughter Ruby and Vav's daughter Vikie were in the house at Aldermoor Farm, Upton Road, Ryde, when lightning hit the roof during a freak storm back in April.
At the time Newport station manager for the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service Julian Trout said: "There is severe damage to the roof and inside the property."
The scaffolding is now covered over and the family is now waiting for planning permission, to allow for the roof to be repaired. Owner David Simon is hoping it will be passed in the next 8 weeks.
The family says it hopes to be back in by the house before Christmas.
