Red Jet to be used at the Olympics

Red Jet to be used at the Olympics
By Fri, 27 July 2012 10:16AM

Red Funnel's Red Jet 5 is to be used for the Olympics in London.

The company's Chief Executive James Fulford has confirmed on Twitter that he made "the very tricky decision to allow RJ5 to be used on the Thames for the Olympic period."

He added, "3 reasons for RJ5 to Thames a) very strong demand from LOCOG b) Red Jets not making a good return and our duty is to use our assets effectively in order to keep prices to you regulars as low as poss."

Mr Fulford has said if the company "gets it right" then it will be good for the "RF brand and for the Isle of Wight".

He said "if we get this wrong (i.e a breakdown here) then we will deserve criticism."
