Wind Farm Plans Due To Be Refused

Wind Farm Plans Due To Be Refused
By Isle of Wight Radio Reporter Mon, 16 July 2012 10:23AM

Plans for a mini wind farm near Wellow on the Isle of Wight are expected to be ditched later tonight (Monday).

Isle of Wight Council's planning sub-committee is meeting in Cowes to discuss plans for five 100 metre turbines.

Infinergy's plans have already attracted huge interest, with more than 2,000 comments.

Those against the mini wind farm have mainly raised objections focusing on the visual impact of the turbines.

Infinergy says if the plans are given the go-ahead homeowners living directly nearby the site will get a £100 rebate and 10% off their energy bills.

The meeting is being held at Cowes Yacht Haven at 6pm.
