Island Firm Backs Wind Turbines
By Mon, 09 July 2012 9:46AM

One of the Isle of Wight's largest private sector employers says it would welcome wind turbines on the Isle of Wight.

Gurit, which is a global leader in the development and manufacture of advanced composite materials, says it would be good for business and the local economy.

A week today (Monday) councillors on the Island will meet to discuss plans for a mini wind farm near Wellow.

The plans have caused controversy for more than a decade on the Island with both support and anti groups set up.
