Armed Officers Charge Man

Police have confirmed a man was charged on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 with possessing a knife and two blades in a public place on the Isle of Wight.
 
Ricky Gareth Tegg, aged 33, of North Road, Shanklin, Isle of Wight, was bailed to appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on July 20, 2012.
 
Officers from one of the Isle of Wight’s Armed Response Vehicles (ARV) and Targeted Patrol teams (TPT) were called at 5.28pm on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 when concerns were raised about the behaviour of a man seen by members of the public near the Southern Co-operative store in Sandown Road, Lake, Isle of Wight.
 
A man was arrested at the scene at 5.45pm by armed officers who took him into custody for questioning at Newport police station.
