More than 100 people have signed a petition to reduce the size of the Isle of Wight Festival to 30,000.
The petition has been drawn up by Jason Bunce from Ryde.
He believes, "The festival has become too large and is having a disruptive effect on the Island population."
Karen Binsley-Smith has signed the petition. She wrote on the petition; "I am a resident who lives on Fairlee Rd with my husband, my 9 year old son and my elderly parents. I have never had to complain before but this year has all got too much."
She goes on to write, "Reasons are residents are not allowed to use the road, but buses carrying festival people are! Festival goers urinating in the hedge opposite our house and the fact that the whole house vibrates and my son is unable to sleep in his bedroom, but on the floor of my bedroom, because the glass in the windows vibrate. Yes please, get the numbers down, much too big."
Gail Middleton, another angry resident has written, "My son left school with a school bus full of children at 5.00. Three hours and 25 minutes later they are not even half way home."
"Helpful public went and bought them food. This experience is NOT acceptable, and it wouldn't happen even in London where the traffic is always compromised."
