A 21-year-old woman's been left with cuts and bruises in an alleged assault in Shanklin, according to Isle of Wight Police.
Officers are calling for the driver of a red Mercedes car, who stopped to help, to contact them.
Investigation underway
They are investigating reports of an attack in the Atherley Road and Hope Road area, between 4 and 5pm on Wednesday, May 30, 2012.
Investigating officer PC Keith Nicholson said: "A 21-year-woman received cuts and bruises in an alleged attack by two other women.
"Enquiries so far have established that a passing motorist, a white man aged in his 60s, driving a red soft top Mercedes car stopped to give assistance to the victim. We would like to speak to this man as he may have witnessed what happened."
A 27-year-old woman from Sandown, Isle of Wight and a 23-year-old woman from Shanklin, Isle of Wight were arrested on suspicion of assault. They were bailed until July 2, 2012 pending further enquiries.
